The Basic Dog Training Commands That Will Make Your Pet Smarter

To start the dog needs to associate the command with a reward, so to start, you need to give the dog the command, and when they perform the desired action give them a treat. Slowly phase this out by giving them a treat 3/4 of the time, then half the time; until, eventually the dog learns the command without expecting a reward.

Train The Dog To Sit One of the most common dog commands is “Sit” and it is also a very easy skill to teach. If your pooch sits on command, it gets quite easy to to manage him until he learns self control. For instance, when you train him to sit the moment your doorbell rings, your pooch is likely to jump on the guests the moment your door opens. So how to train your dog commands like “sit”? Well, to teach this command, first of all get on the ground at your canine’s level.



Show him any dog treat and allow his head to follow it as you move the hand. The moment your pooch lifts his head, his rump will lower. When the rump hits the ground, give him the treat and praise for his intelligence. Repeat the same sequence a few times daily and link this behavior with the command “sit”.
